Heat Blossoms

Michael's father, Atmar Atkinson, (Legendary Lubbock Architect), was my client for most of my life. After Vietnam, Michael worked in Atmar's office. My favorite Atkinson water color hung in the reception room. I used to go early to meetings just to sit and look at that picture. It is a very large watercolor. One day it hit me: That picture could hang in my living room! I bought it and took it home that day.

Snug Harbor

After Michael had established himself as Lubbock's favorite artist, his works were being shown in major galleries around the country. I happened to go by Atmar's home one afternoon when they were unpacking some from a show in New York. A watercolor of sailboats at anchor on Lake Amastad was outstanding. We remodeled the conference room at the office to provide a suitable setting to display the work.
